A message from the pastor
Greetings! Welcome to the parish of St. Brigid. The parish has a rich and exciting history dating back to 1940 when Bishop Charles Francis Buddy appointed Monsignor J.A.C Van Veggel as its founding pastor. With each passing year, as the Pacific Beach community grew, St. Brigid Parish was continually blessed with dedicated parishioners and wonderful priests and sisters who would serve the Parish's spiritual needs with great zeal and devotion. Gradually, the laity of the parish would emerge to offer their gifts and talents in the very important and vital areas of lay ministry. Along with a long standing commitment to Catholic Education, St. Brigid Parish has always been an active and vibrant community of faith where families, both young and old, young adults and singles could come to worship and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We also boast an outstanding liturgical music program, both traditional and contemporary that draw worshippers to our weekend masses from around the area. God has blessed our parish family abundantly. I would especially like to express my personal gratitude for the priests, deacons, sisters, lay staff, and numerous volunteers who serve our community with a true spirit of joy and Christ-like charity and compassion. Their collegial support and dedication make our shared ministry a continual source of grace and fulfillment. God bless. |
