Wednesday
Homeless Dinner

The Wednesday Homeless Dinner is a monthly dinner event in Pacific Beach to feed and serve the local homeless community. On the third Wednesday of every month, a lasagna dinner is served to an average of 100 guests. The dinner includes salad, veggies, bread, dessert, and spaghetti for second helpings. In addition to the meal, guests have an opportunity to meet with an extensive health care staff to address any health problems them may have. The medical staff (dentists, doctors, acupuncturists, etc) are all there on a volunteer basis and take appointments after dinner.

This meal takes place at the Pacific Beach Methodist Church, 1561 Thomas Ave at Ingraham Street, from 5pm-7pm on the third Wednesday of every month. Volunteers are needed to donate food, transport food donations, serve meals and greet guests. Food items needed for the dinner are prepared lasagnas, bags of salad, large cans of corn or olives, and fresh fruits or vegetables. If you are interested in donating food or volunteering, contact Alison Gibbons at alison_gibbons@yahoo.com or 858-581-6968, or Leslie Roberts at leslie.roberts@solvay.com or 858-452-5009.
